As a responsible and conscientious corporate citizen, Sun Knowledge endorses innovative approaches, passionately addressing societal, economic and environmental challenges. Social responsibility lies at the heart of our ethical and moral values and for the past few years, we have achieved and maintained optimum levels of performance in areas of poverty alleviation and mobilization of humanitarian relief. We work in close partnership with our external and internal stakeholders, immediate communities, human-development organizations, labor unions and consumers, applying best working practices that foster increased social awareness amongst the marginalized communities. We prudently use natural resources, strictly avoiding reckless business practices that can jeopardize the overall health and safety of people as well as environmental balance.
Sun Knowledge has always invested its time and money in the humanitarian activities of various social welfare organizations in order to improve the overall wellbeing of under-developed communities. In the year 2009, the employees of Sun Knowledge generously donated a substantial amount of cash to Ramakrishna Mission, a noted charitable institution of India for the relief and rehabilitation of hundreds of people in West Bengal’s deltaic regions of Sundarbans, left homeless by the devastation unleashed by the Cyclone AILA. The fund mainly went towards providing the flood-stricken victims with basic amenities of life, building low-cost houses and digging tube wells for safe drinking water. On June 19, 2010, Sun Knowledge and other corporate conglomerates from Calcutta’s IT hub, Salt-Lake- Sector 5, organized a soccer tournament, "Futsol 2010" to help India’s Football Players Association raise funds for mentoring and promoting budding and under-represented footballers from across the nation.
